My mom was in Pico de Loro for a week before she passed away. They were very good to my mom. It was an older building, but it was done nicely. They had an atrium with birds and she enjoyed looking at that. They had little classes every day, and they had someone come in and do special classes with them. It was a lot more affordable than the other facilites that were closer to home.

We chose Pico De Loro for my brother because it has open space outside where he can walk and still be in a safe environment. They have a koi pond and birds that he enjoys looking at. The staff is pleasant and always welcoming. The facility is clean and doesn't feel like a nursing home. My brother likes the food.

I visited the Pico De Loro, but due to the COVID you can't see that much. I think the staff there wasn't sure on what the fees would be. I was able to see the day room, the TV room, and the main office. The place was well-maintained and looked like it was clean from what I could see.

I probably would have sent my mom to Pico De Loro, but it was far away from us. I liked that it's for assisted living and dementia/Alzheimer's care. Outside, there was a lot of dirt; no grass or any plants. It was clean inside, but it was a little unorganized. I liked it, but the grounds outside could've had some foliage and maybe clear up some of the clutter. It didn't smell or anything; it was just very cluttered and needed organization. The staff seemed nice. One of the staff members took my sister and me around. She was very nice and seemed intelligent and good for that position. Even the facility operator was very nice and very intelligent. I liked them.
