I toured and I would love to move into that place. Most of the rooms were singles with a living room. They had a nice little area to watch television so you wouldn't be sitting in bed all day. The staff members that I met were very cordial. I walked around, looked at the dining area, and how the meals were prepared, because I'm a chef. We had lunch there. It was a little on the bland side, but it could be the dietary restrictions of the people there. You are able to get out of the facility and go on a shopping tour, which seemed fine.

My father moved in. It's a very good place, the staff is very good, he has a studio apartment, but they also have a 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, and deluxe suite. They have fellowship, chapel, catholic service, bingo, and various clubs like reading club, walking club, and exercise club. Our overall experience is very good.

We liked it, it was nice, but they were getting ready to do a big renovation. The common spaces will be changed, but it was okay. The rooms were very nice, they were clean, good, and I liked the fact that have their own heating systems in each room. But they were small, and there were practically no kitchen facilities, so I didn't like that. I saw the menu, it was very restricted, there were not a lot of choices, and so it would be very hard for me to find an adequate diet for myself.

We visited here and it's good. We had lunch there and they showed us the whole place. It's a four-story building. It's one of the places that I considered for my sister. The room is reasonable, the location is in close vicinity to the dining room and all those things. I noticed the community room where they have activities. I saw the dining room, library, and the game room where they do bingo; it's a decent place. We like it. The food was very nutritious, and the staff is fairly polite and cooperative. I think the staff is really friendly. We saw their meal time, and they were getting ready for their musical event for that afternoon during our visit. They don't have as much outdoor space as other places I visited.

It was fine. I had lunch there, and it was great. I liked it. I would like to have access to a pool, but they don't have one. The studios were very small, and I think I would have to go for a 1-bedroom. The people who showed me around were great, the servers in the dining room was good, and I had a hotdog, which wasn't great, but it was OK.

I visited pacific Gardens, but the lady that was supposed to show us around never came down, and we ended up having a substitute that was not very knowledgeable about the facility. The rooms were accessible, but nothing stood out to me, and they were very plain. The whole building needs an updated look to it; it just wasn't appealing. They were doing a "Dear Abby" discussion with some the residents when we were there, and that seemed good. I know they have arts and crafts. They had three set meals a day, we saw a beauty salon, a gym, an outdoor area, and they do barbeques. They have transportation.

It was a very good place. If you don't have a heck of a lot of money, it'd be a nice place to move to if you needed care. The facilities were great, the parking was OK, the food facilities looked good, and the staff seemed very good. The person who gave the tour did a very good job and was very thorough.

I was disappointed with the tour at Villa Serena, because the lady that we were supposed to meet wasn't there, and the manager we spoke to didn't seem too knowledgeable. It didn't look like they were expecting us, and the tour wasn't complete. We saw one room, and it was nice. They have a nice pond with ducks outside. They have several buildings, and in order to get your mail, you have to go outside. That's fine in good weather, but in bad weather, I wouldn't care for it. You have to go from one building to the next to go to the dining room. There was also no follow up after the tour, so it seemed like they weren't interested.

My mother-in-law is in here. Everything is great. The staff is very good. She's in a studio. The food is very good. She attends an exercise class there, and it's a very friendly and great community for her.
The median cost of assisted living in Santa Clara for a single-occupancy apartment is $5,250/month (Genworth -2021). This monthly cost typically includes rent, utilities, dining, housekeeping and transportation.
Santa Clara originated as a mission site, but is now a thriving city in California’s Silicon Valley. The fertile Santa Clara Valley lies at the southern tip of San Francisco Bay, and is ringed by rolling hills. The regional climate remains temperate all year due to the area’s geography.
A smaller city within the bustling Bay Area with a population of just over 100,000, assisted living in Santa Clara offers both a peaceful and interesting option for seniors.
The city of Santa Clara maintains several historic museums as well as the Santa Clara Mission and gardens located on the grounds of picturesque Santa Clara University. The Center of Performing Arts at Santa Clara University encompasses all aspects of dance, music and theatre. Santa Clara is the training home of the San Francisco 49ers and offers easy access to many Bay Area athletic teams, including the San Jose Sharks, the only professional ice hockey team in Northern California. Residents of assisted living in Santa Clara will be delighted by the city’s elaborate senior center, complete with a computer lab and an indoor pool and spa. The center’s “Adventures to Go” program offers opportunity for exciting travel and tours.
Residing in the same city as California‘s Great America, one of Northern California’s largest theme parks, seniors enjoying assisted living in Santa Clara will always know how to entertain the grandkids when they come to visit. For a more sedate excursion outdoors, your loved one can stroll through one of the 27 county parks covering more than 50,000 acres of the valley.
For shopping trips, try Westfield Shoppingtown Valley Fair, one of Northern California’s largest enclosed malls, featuring a wide variety of stores and a 450-seat food pavilion. Mercado Santa Clara offers more shopping, plus a 20-screen AMC Theatre complex. Not far out of the city, residents will find the Great Mall of the Bay Area containing over 185 outlet, off-price and specialty stores, in addition to numerous restaurants and two entertainment centers. Another nearby option is the year-round San Jose Flea Market.
The city is served by the highly acclaimed Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. This 574-bed hospital is recognized as providing a range of sophisticated specialty services, and is affiliated with the nearby Stanford University School of Medicine.
Seniors enjoying assisted living in Santa Clara may also visit the Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center, along with other nearby Bay Area facilities.
The city of Santa Clara is well-serviced by a wide variety of public transportation resources including the Altamont Commuter Express (ACE), Caltrain commuter trains and the Valley Transportation Authority (VTA). For more specialized needs, a number of organizations provide free or low cost transportation for qualified residents of assisted living in Santa Clara. A group called OUTREACH sends 220 vehicles on the road each day to help the elderly and disabled live self-sufficient lives, and a team of volunteers known as “Heart of the Valley” provides escorted transportation for people over 59 years of age. There are no financial eligibility requirements for this service.
