Living Well
Our Personal Touch Care Program is a holistic approach aimed at maintaining Residents well being and self-worth, It is a program that encompasses all aspects of our resident care.
While many think of "Activities" as pre-planned group events, such as exercise, crafts and music events where almost everyone participates, we think of "Activity" as everything the resident does throughout the day weather planned or spontaneous. This includes our residents' personal care, conversations with others and even time alone.
We spend a great deal of time assisting residents with personal care and the daily routines can become more meaningful when we are making sure we are using sensitivity and creativity to create the special Personal Care Moment.
The best way to get to know a community is by scheduling a tour. See the facilities, meet the staff and residents, and get a feel firsthand what it's like to live at Sterling Commons Memory Care Community.

We have chosen Sterling Commons for my sister. I think they're wonderful. The bedrooms are very small, especially when you're sharing it with another party. However, as far as the care is concerned, Sterling Commons couldn't be better. The residents are well taken care of and well looked after. The food is good according to my sister. Out of ten, they're a 10. They have all kinds of activities that go on during the weekdays. They take bus rides and they play games. They have a schedule of daily activities available for family members and for the residents themselves. Sterling Commons is also a beautiful place. Compared to the other places that I looked at, I don't think there was anywhere else that could even begin to compare, so I think the value is a five.

My mother is a resident of the Sterling Commons memory care. The place is very clean and the staff is helpful and attentive. They have lots of activities, plus the food seems very good. She's in a shared room but her roommate has moved onto a different level of care. They have variety, there are single rooms and double rooms, but there were no available single rooms at the time. They play games, do puzzles, they have musical entertainment that comes in, and they have service techs that come in. They take the residents on bus rides and field trips and they don't let them get off the bus so there's no chance of them getting lost. They also have church services, movie days, and they're growing a garden. My mom loves the food so I would rate them a five on that. I would rate them a four on activities, but just because I don't think they try and encourage them enough. Instead of asking her, I would like it if they just move her and tell her they have to do something, although I dont want to force anybody to do anything. Just a little more encouragement would help my mom focus instead of drifting off. The cost is expensive, but the place is very well-maintained and the staff is good.
