We're very pleased with Brookdale Skyline's personnel and services. The place itself is a very beautiful facility and probably one of the most beautiful places that I have ever been to. It's on the west side of Colorado Springs in front of the mountains, and it's really very attractive. It's a good place to go because there are plenty of places to walk, there's not a lot of slopes, and it's not like climbing hills, so for us it's really good. Our room is a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment. They have everything from studios to two-bedroom apartments and also cottages for independent living, which are about 1,500 to 1,600 square feet. Ours is about 800 square feet and it's really comfortable. They have an enormous schedule of activities, they have games to play, a billiards room, swimming pool, and access to at least three exercise rooms with equipment. The place has nice lounges on every floor of each of the four buildings, there's a beautiful view outside the windows, and it's a very relaxing place. They have balconies and all kinds of things to go outside and enjoy the weather, or stay inside and keep warm. My son and I looked at about nine places and this is the one we liked the best. The staff is excellent, and I think the food is good. It's not gourmet, but they have a wide variety of food, so although there are a lot of things on the menu that I don't like, there's no trouble finding what's good. They have numerous libraries, there are places to play games, sit, and lounge.

I went in-person to Brookdale Skyline. We were in assisted living, and I liked it. I would not have a problem putting my dad there, but they kind of fumbled a few things for us and never filled in a few of the blanks. When we actually met, the staff told us a few things and neglected to tell us the whole story. That's when I thought assisted living might be an option, but I don't think at this time assisted living again will be an option for him. The facility was nice. I saw a small 1-bedroom apartment, nothing special, nice enough, probably a little dated, but it wasn't terrible. I only met with one person. She's a very nice lady, but she didn't fill in some of the blanks that I would have liked to have filled in. She spent at least two hours with us, which I did appreciate.
