I visited Brookdale, and they seemed to have a lot of staff, from the nurses, to the CNAs, to the physical therapists. The place was extremely clean, there were a lot of residents, and there were a few empty beds left. They had a gazebo area, and everything was accounted for. They had assisted living, skilled nursing, and apartments.

Brookdale Brandon was very clean. The staff was extremely informative. The administrator was very friendly and very accommodating. We talked several times on the phone, and she wanted to make sure that my mom had a place to go. The services that they offered were very much what I like, the only reason why I didn't choose them is because they were much larger than my mom would like. They have many activities. They have an exercise program, hairdresser, and crafts. I saw the room and I liked it. They serve three meals a day. They have a set arrangement for physical therapy too.

Our visit at Brookdale Brandon was good, but they just didn’t have the level of care that my father needs, so I didn’t take the whole tour because I didn’t want to waste my time or theirs. They’re like mid-level, and he’s a higher level of care. The rooms were nice and clean. The people looked content there. The dining room looked nice.

I really liked Brookdale Brandon, but there would not be enough control for my mother because they're not memory care. They're not locked down. If I wanted to retire early and go take care of myself, I really liked that place more than I thought I would, but for my mother and the care that she needs, it wasn't enough care. It was a nice place. If you did not have memory problems and you could go out and kind of be a little bit independent, it was much better than I thought it would be. They should have more personnel. When I was there, there were not a lot of workers hanging around. I did not see a lot of staff around who could answer questions. It was two floors, and my mother would not know how to use the elevator on her own. For someone who wanted to be in assisted living, but independent, it would be great, but if you need extra help it's not set up for that. They have shopping trips and sign-ups to go to restaurants, and my mother could never do that. The gal who gave me the tour was really nice.

Visitor

The staff seems caring at Brookdale Brandon. Food is as good as you can expect, but there’s many choices every day for lunch and dinner. My mom is in a two-bedroom apartment. It is small but adequate. So far, so good. They have people that administer the medicines, and they get their therapies like physical therapy and blood pressure monitoring there.

Brookdale Brandon was really dark, and the community was older. The director was very nice, though. The room was small.
