We had 2 family members in this residence and had to move both due to sub-par care. The first resident was improperly cared for after a fall and forced to stand on what ultimately was a broken hip. Reports of the incident were then inaccurately reported to the home office. Multiple attempts to work with the home office resulted in no returned phone calls and no corrective action. The point of contact for the family was never notified and the resident had to call directly to reach the family. The second family member was in memory care and moved due to lack of hygiene care and the facilities inability to stop a male resident that continually entered her room and scared her even after multiple requests from the family to care staff. Facilty often had a bad smell unless it was just after cleaning day. Most of the staff were friendly but there have been lots of turnover and they were using contract staff not permanent employees for many roles.

My 91 tear old mother-in-law has been a resident at The Villas At Canterfield in their memory care unit for over 5 weeks and my wife and I feel this is an excellent personal care home. My mother-in-law is already adapting very well and receives very loving care by their staff. She has said the staff treats her like she is a queen. They have good meals with snacks in between meals and plenty of activities to entertain them. By design there are always a number of staff members available to keep a close eye on the residents in memory care. This is a beautiful well run facility and we highly recommend them for anyone looking for a personal care home.

We went to the independent living at the Villas at Canterfield. It was in a busy area as far as the traffic was concerned, but it was lovely, and it had everything. It had good parking facilities underneath the building, which were accessible. They have indoor and outdoor pools, a gymnasium, they have art classes going on, and they have a full variety of activities.

The Villas was beautiful, and the staff was very good, very nice, and showed us around. They were very helpful; however, it was very expensive.

The staff is amazing! They are friendly and welcoming. They check in often to make sure you have what you need. The food is good. They have a beautiful couryard to hang out in. I am very pleased with everything about this place!

Chestnut Ridge was depressing. The only availability they had was a room with three beds in it for three people. It was deplorable. The layout was all flat. They had an 8-shaped hallway, which was very tight. They had a lot of equipment in the hallways, so it was clustered and confusing. Nevertheless, they had a physical therapy unit that seemed adequately staffed. Also the people were very gracious. The lady upfront was very sweet, and the one that took me around had honest intentions. She told me that was the only availability that they had.

I am very pleased with the Villas at Canterfield. They have different options as to what you might need. Theyre all very nice and they showed us the different units they have. They have a room where they do exercises and group things, a game room with checkers, and they go places on field trips. People come in for church services. It sounded like they had a lot to offer. The meals they served were very good and we were pleased with it. The place was clean and the people were friendly. The residents I saw seemed happy. The person who assisted us during the tour was very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable.
