We went to Laurel Grove. It was very welcoming and clean, it looked like the residents were active, so I was very satisfied with the place. The place was very nice, the staff was very open, and she took her time with me, so I was very appreciative of that. It wasn't rushed or anything just to make me feel comfortable, and answered all questions, concerns, everything. I saw apartments with or without balconies, the studio, and one-bedroom floor plans. Everything looked updated, and it was a nice, little arrangement. I saw the activity room, the dining area, a communion area, and I think I saw the chapel, and I was satisfied with all. I didn't see the actual food itself. I did see the menu, that would be a five, and also I was very impressed with their COVID check-in process.

I love Laurel Grove. I like the people, the food, everything. They have home care that comes in for the residents. I'm really pleased with the food. Their spaghetti was the best I've ever had. Everybody is nice. It's a lovely place to live. The staff is very personable. My cottage has 2 rooms, 2 baths, a living area, a full kitchen, a garage, a patio, and a yard for the dogs.

Brookdale Lawrenceville is very clean. My dad's room is always kept nice and clean, and the hallways are always clean. The place is clean-smelling. The staff members are very nice and very helpful. The dining area is clean. Residents get three choices of what they would like to eat, which my dad enjoys. They have lots of different programs that he can attend, which is what we wanted for him. It is very nice. They have different kinds of activities, and during the holiday, they always have programs.

The tour at Sunrise at Webb Gin was excellent. The lady we met with seemed to be more of a counselor and participant than straight salesperson; we like that very much. The place was older but very bright with lots of windows, lots of brightness, and sunlight. Even though it was an older place, it was very clean and absolutely immaculate. The dining area was very clean and very neat.

My mother refers to Laurel Grove as the lovely place. We liked the view. Some of the windows were over the woods rather than a parking lot. They showed us all of the amenities and described some of the activities. We were there on a Sunday afternoon of Thanksgiving weekend. They offered us a meal, but my father said no. That's the only place my mom wants to go. It's an independent living kind of place where you can gradually increase the amount of support you get. The staff member, Chad, has been phenomenal. We were very impressed with the cleanliness. The facilities were in good condition. My father was looking for activities exclusively for men like a woodworking shop, but Laurel Grove is not big enough to support something like that.

My mother stayed in Ashton Hall. It was good initially. When my mother first moved there she resided on the independent living side, which I questioned because she had always lived on the assisted side and she ultimately had to transfer back to the assisted side. It's a larger facility and they changed staff members a lot. They had a high turnover rate for the staff members and it was expensive. The rooms were a lot bigger. With the independent side, the rooms were like apartments. On the assisted side, it's more like suites, but the rooms were still bigger and they had companion rooms as well as larger suite type rooms. The assisted living side did not have activities, but the independent side had more. I was told that they had activities, but my mother told me that they didn't. There were times that I would be there during the day and I did not see any activities happening. It's a very nice facility though.

I toured Brookdale Lawrenceville, but I didn't care much for it at all, and it's a lot more expensive. It's very antiquated and the lighting wasn't that great. The medical staff wasn't able to administer my dad's diabetic medication on the sliding scale. It needed a lot of renovation, and the first resident that we talked to was very unhappy. The person who gave me the tour was nice. They have the same basic activities for the residents as other senior living places. They also have a bus to take you to places.

My 93 dad has lived here for almost 2 years independently. It is a beautiful facility. However when my Father fell last week and was hospitalized, I was told he cannot come back with 24/7 supervision. He was thrown out with no place to go and no notice. He spent 6 days as an indigent in a hospital before securing a room at an assisted living facility. The director, Steve , offered no assistance.
