My wife and I moved into Sedgebrook about 9 to 10 years ago. After my wife died last month, I thought maybe I should move out, but Sedgebrook is pretty hard to beat. There are so many good things here that we have. First of all, we have a lot of grounds for walking. I love it because it's close to Mother Nature. They have a variety of walking paths. There are beautiful little lakes and ponds nearby. We could have 30, 40 or 50 different activities inside you can sign up into. We also have two resident officers. We have assisted living as well as independent living. The independent people, like myself, have our own car. We can come and go as we please, but of course right now, we have the Covid disaster. I still get out though and I do my shopping. They have so much going for us. One reason I don't want to leave is that I have so many friends here, so I think I'm going to stay put. I have a 2-bedroom apartment. The one big bedroom where we slept in is possibly 14 x 16 in size. It has an adjoining shower and bathroom. Then, there's a smaller room which could be a bedroom or an office. That's where I sleep because I got my computer in there and a small bed. This is about 12 x 10. The two together is more than adequate for a couple. For a single person, it's too much room. Now that my wife has died, I don't need all these rooms. The staff is wonderful, and they're all intelligent. They understand what should be done and what shouldn't. They follow the protocol. For the two dining rooms, we have a bunch of young people from the local high school. They have been trained well. They are wonderful kids. They used to wait on the tables, but now since the dining rooms are closed, they pack up the food and they bring it to our door. The help is all-around good. I don't have one person that I could be dissatisfied with or complain about. It's wonderful. I think this place is about 12, 13, or 14 years old. The building is solid, in good shape, and everything works well. The driving route that comes in and around to the back building is paved, tarred and painted with nice white and yellow lines. The maintenance here is excellent. There are many activities, too. It's expensive, but it's very good value for what you're paying.
