A community who has been in service for almost 14 years, Whaler’s Cove Assisted living strives to be the one of the best senior community in South Coast. Located in New Bedford, We have 120 units and we are one of the most generously sized assisted living communities around. Here at Whaler’s cove we encourage our residents to remain active and be involved in special activities to promote socialization.

Here at Whaler’s Cove, we offer spacious studio apartments, 1 bedroom, 2 bedrooms and companion suites. Residents are encouraged to bring their cherished belongings to decorate their units. To help ensure their safety, smoke detectors and sprinkles are installed in each bedroom.

Our residents can enjoy and relax at our beautiful sunroom. We have indoor gardens to bring nature closer to our residents. At Whaler’s Cove we value privacy, which is why our residents have their own apartment keys and mailboxes. Residents can also socialize in our great room that features an inviting fireplace.

Available services

Whaler's Cove provides personalized care to each resident. The staff shares the responsibility of ensuring that residents feel safe and cared for in their new home. Whaler's Cove staff are on-site 24 hours per day and can respond to any need for care or in the event of an emergency through the state-of-the-art technology offered through the Phillips Lifeline Auto-Alert Pendant. This system allows staff to be notified when a fall is detected anywhere in the building (when worn properly) even if the resident is unable to push the button on his or her own. Our staff is always happy to provide you personal assistance as you need it in bathing, grooming and dressing.

We have many activities to choose from, including musical entertainers which come to our community to provide live entertainment. Games and exercise classes are done every day to provide residents with the opportunity to remain active and involve in social activities.
