My mother is at The Cambridge. She's gone from a house to a one room apartment so it's an adjustment for her, but they're nice, and they take care of the residents. They have a lot of activities, and they provide well-balanced meals. She's having a good time, and she's met a lot of new people. They play bingo, they offer bible studies, they have church on Sundays, and there are food socials. She's enjoyed the food she's had.

I fell in love with The Cambridge and I wanted to take my parents there so bad. It's fabulous, and the people were wonderful. It was fantastic, like a fancy hotel. You go into this beautiful lobby and look into a big dining room with nice furniture. There were no odors, and it's beautiful. The menus looked awesome. There were different levels of apartments and little rails all around. The one-bedroom apartment I saw was so amazing and had a full kitchen and a nice bathroom. Everything was so nice. It also had plenty of space. They had activities like dominoes, bingo, and games. The people invite the new people and encourage them to come down for meals. To me, it was the ideal place and I didn't look any further. They had a laundry, but they did all the bedding and linen. It was amazing to me, and I was overwhelmed when I found it.

Our tour of The Cambridge was very good. They only had independent living. It's a very nice place. Everybody seemed to be happy and content. It was very clean, but the quarters were a little bit confining. Everybody goes down for a nice meal and eats together. The staff took us up on the second floor and showed us somebody's suite, which was very nice. We were treated very well. She was very cordial and very helpful.

The Cambridge wasn't good enough for my mother because she needs more care than they offer. We would have had to hire outside help to spend the night with her, but that would be very expensive. They do try to take people who are non-ambulatory, but they prefer people who are ambulatory; you have to be able to go out for a fire drill. Nevertheless, they had studio and one-bedroom units with small kitchenettes with a refrigerator, stove, and microwave. In the one-bedroom, there's a separate bedroom with a large closet, and there's a handicapped bathing facility right in the bathroom. Everything was right there; it was very nice. The food looked absolutely wonderful. They served breakfast, lunch, and dinner and had a lot of activities. They also had a bus that took them to different places for shopping and shows. They had an activity staff who does different activities, like painting and cards. If I was to move there right now, I think I would be very happy.

My mother is currently at The Cambridge in Springfield and everything is working out really well. So far, she is pleased. I like her apartment, it's all she needs. Her last one was bigger than that, but I really think this one's cozy. She's got a very small kitchen, a living room, a bedroom, and a bathroom. There's a linen closet, a coat closet, and big closet in her bedroom. The staff is very, very friendly. My mom can't do anything, but they have an exercise room and they play games out in the front.

The tour at The Cambridge went well. The people were very nice, not pushy, very caring, generous, and very good with the elderly and the family. They had everything that you would need, like a library, dining room, big family rooms, activity rooms, and games rooms.
