We liked Durham Regent a lot, but the price is just not where we want it to be. The place was fantastic. The staff was wonderful and friendly. Aaron was wonderful; I liked her a lot, and she caught on quick on how it works with my sister and I. We toured there a long time, so she had things to do and she kept coming back to check in on us. The rooms at first kind of threw me off, but then it makes sense. I would have liked the fridge to be bigger. She showed us some rooms that were V-shaped. I didn't care for the one-bedroom apartment, even though it had a door. It seemed smaller but costs more. The lunch was great, and I like the fact that everybody was coming together, friendly, and talking to each other. The food was wonderful, and we didn't know that we could ask for something. I really like the gaming area with the puzzle tables setup. If you're walking past, you can add a piece and not really have to focus on just that one thing. Other people were playing cards and board games. It's like a library with other things to do, and you're not forced to do anything. I felt good about it because it's an assisted community to a point, so your independence won't be taken away from you. Another thing I thought that's fantastic is the housekeeping. Once a week someone would come in and clean and bring your paper products for you. It was nice. I like that they'll take you places you need to go, and it's included in the price. We've looked at other places, and everything is extra. So the fact that this community has their own equipment to take you to the store, or to the bank and something like that, is a plus. The place didn't have a smell; it was very clean and very inviting. Everybody was wonderful, but a whole lot of praise goes to Aaron.

Durham Regent is nice and always kept clean. They have activities during the day that are good for the residents. My grandmother also says that the food is better compared to the community she was in previously. The staff is apparently nice and helpful too. Her room has a bathroom, bedroom, and a common living area. They have yoga class and exercise classes, movies, Bingo, and there's a chapel where they can have services. The grounds are very well-maintained, and the location is close to a local hospital.

Durham Regent was good and very friendly. The apartments were lovely, clean, and neat. They had activities, like meetings, ping pong, crafts, and so on. There was a library, a chapel, and a TV room.

The staff at Durham Regent has been great. They have a great activity calendar, a library, a pool table, popcorn and movie theater, and plenty of stuff to do. The menu looks great. The place is clean and well maintained with beautiful landscaping and flowers outside.

Durham Regent is a little too expensive, but it's nice, and the people seem nice. I like my cottage. It's a 1-bedroom with a bathroom, a kitchen, a washer and dryer, dishwasher, stove, and refrigerator. The location is fine, and the grounds are kept up well. I don't participate in activities. I cook for myself, and I buy my groceries. I don't go out in their main building at all. The staff members have been good, friendly, and helpful. Everybody that I've seen and talked to seemed to be happy. It's really nice, clean, and quiet, and so far I've enjoyed it. I would recommend them.

Durham Regent was a beautiful place. We wanted to get our mother in there, but what they advertise on the internet is different from the price when you go in to visit. It was a very clean and convenient living space. I liked the way it was set up. They had lots of activities for the senior citizens and a means of taking them to the doctor when they need to go. The staff was very nice. Everything was great, except they did not have the facility that we need. There was advertising that didn’t meet their price.

My mom was very happy at Durham Regent. She liked the food and made good friends. It's an older community, but the administrator was awesome. The housekeeping was oOK. My mom was there for 16 months and she was satisfied there. It needed updating and probably new hall carpeting. Mom says the food is awesome and she loved everything they served her. The staff was very friendly and changed maintenance several times, but they seemed to be fairly good.

Durham Regent was very good. I would go there if I was trying to find somewhere to go. The landscaping was pretty, which was the main thing I noticed. The room I saw was nice and arranged nice. The only thing I didn't like was when you go down into the lobby and go down the hall, I felt like I was going into a hotel room more so than an apartment, but that still wouldn't keep me from moving in if I felt like I needed to go to a place like that. The appearance of the lobby could have been a little bit better. The carpet was old, and I think fresh paint and a new carpet would make it look a lot nicer.

My mother chose Durham Regent because the apartments were a little bigger than the other place she saw and because it has a homey feeling. The staff and the residents are friendly. The food is good, too.

My sister moved into Durham Regent. It has a friendly atmosphere, and it's easy to navigate. The dining room, library, game room, and beauty parlor are in the center along the elevator. They offer a podiatrist, a beauty shop, and transportation to doctors' appointments if necessary. They also take them to a shopping center if they desire, and have bingo and a little gift shop for personal items.

My dad is living in Durham Regent. It's a really good bet for the budget that we had. They were very willing to work with very small budgets and had great accommodations for that budget. The other incredible thing was that they allowed us to use their furniture, so he now has a furnished apartment. What's unique is they have nurses there that you can hire as needed but it is an independent living concept. The concept of the property is kind of like a docked cruise ship. It's a very modern building that's about four stories high, very different, and architecturally pretty. There's a glass atrium and a glass elevator that goes up into the middle of it. There's a church inside the building, a dining room that you can see from the elevator, a public space that has a library, and a baby grand piano in the living area which is nice for entertainment. They have fitness instructors, a small but nice workout area and physical therapy if you need it. It's the best bargain ever. They have three meals a day, laundry services, and housekeeping. It's absolutely phenomenal and I cannot say enough good things about it. They have a van that will take them to appointments and shops which is great. It's a little dated because the furniture is from the 1980s but it's fine. I love it for him. I've had really good experiences with the workers, but I heard different stories from my dad. My dad says the food is pretty good. They offer activities which is really nice. My dad's room started out as $2,200 or $2,400, and they gave it to us for $1,800 so the value is really good.

Durham Regent was a nice facility, but I didnt like the staff that much since they don't have staff on-site 24/7. There was a walkway so people could get outside and individual areas for classes of OT and PT, as well.

My experience at Brookdale Durham was good. They have a craft room, TV, movies, and they socially get together. They were in the middle of having their carpets steam-cleaned, so it was kind of a mess that day.

Durham Regent was not a new building, but it was clean. They had bingo. We had a very nice lunch of food that was good and well presented. The staff was competent.
