We liked Brighton Gardens of Raleigh very much and we will probably move there when my parents are ready. It was clean, the residents seemed happy, and the staff appeared to be happy. It looked like a restful and enjoyable place. The rooms were small, but adequate for assisted living. There was a woman who was singing in the common area and the people seemed to be having a lovely time.

Brighton Gardens of Raleigh was a nice place. The staff was thorough in making me understand the services and showing me around. I saw some residents who were being entertained in the lobby while I was there.

Brighton Gardens of Raleigh's staff is extremely good to the residents. They've make a real effort to know them and address them by name. They also seem to genuinely care. The place didn't have an institutional feel, but felt more like a motel or hotel, and it's very clean. My aunt likes the food and hasn't complained once about it. The price is a bit expensive. They have bingo, paint pictures, religious services, rosary for the Catholics and Bible study, knitting and crocheting group, and a bridge club. They also have a social where they get a glass of wine if they wanted. My aunt moved in on the first of September. They do housekeeping, laundry, nurses on-call at the facility, and administer medicine upon doctor's orders. The people there really went out of their way to be warm and inviting.

Brighton Gardens is much bigger and has more patients. It seems that they are very accommodating. They are willing to bend over backwards to help my dad. They told me it wasn’t a problem to take him to breakfast, lunch, and dinner, then take him back to his room every single day. They seem much more equipped to help people in need of extra care. They even said he didn't need to be in the memory care. For an assisted care unit, they have great nursing aid service. They take their people out on excursions regularly, like to restaurants. They have people who would push them in wheelchairs and I thought they were very good about that. The food apparently is really good, so that's a plus. This place was owned by Marriott and was sold years ago to a good company. Some of the employees maintained their jobs when the new company took over. The memory care unit is small and seems more like a confined area. There is a prison feel to it versus the freedom of the assisted care unit. It was a hard decision for my dad. My family preferred him to be in the memory care area, but they said he should be in assisted living. It isn't spectacular, but it is very good. I think the price is a little too high for us, but I'll give it a 4 in terms for their services.
