Brookdale Kettering was quite nice, but it was more than I could afford. When I had lived there in 1990, it was within my price range, but now it is several hundred dollars more and I just don't have the income for it. It was not as beautiful as the other place I visited, but it was still very nice and well-maintained. They had an exercise room and laundry room. There were a lot of good things about it. They had all kinds of activities every day like cards and entertainment. The staff was very helpful and good. The dining area is adequate, but it's probably the least attractive thing they had because it's so open. I prefer dining somewhere more private than that.

Brookdale Kettering is nice and clean, they've got very nice people, and my dad seems pretty happy. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. He seems to like the food. The facility could be updated a little bit.

I am now in Brookdale Kettering. Everything is good except the food. I don't care for it. The bathroom is too small. I love the staff members, though. They're very attentive and very happy. For activities, they have bingo, happy hour, shopping sprees, contests, and casino runs. They also have a gym, a library, and an art room. It is comfortable, inviting, and very homey. Everybody seems very friendly and very accommodating. There is also a laundromat.

We liked Brookdale Kettering. It was all on one floor and they seemed to have a lot of activities for the residents. The food was good. The staff was very nice and capable. They're nearby and easy to access. They have movies, card clubs, evenings out to dinner for people, and they offer transportation.

Brookdale Kettering was not as nice as others. It was a little older, and I didn't like the layout. They had better meal plans, and the staff was great; however, the rooms were aged. They were refinishing some of the rooms too. I didn't like that too much.

Brookdale Kettering offers independent living and assisted in this community, but they're very segregated. Unless you come to the main entrance, there's actually no mixing of the people. Assisted living has a separate wing with separate activities, and a separate dining facility, so I didn't like that at all. Their apartments had their own room and restrooms, it has much more of a nursing home feel. The people would keep their doors open, like in the hospital, so there's less privacy. The staff seemed to be great, though, and the food looked good.

This is not a place for a senior independent person, whose active and able to get around without any type of manual or battery operated scooter. The carpets are badly stained here and there. The hallways are not updated or very cheerful in comparison to many others in the area. I did NOT attempt to eat as the dinng room was not separate from the entrance. It was very close to the entry way which did NOT give me a good feeling. The place looked messy to see the least. The staff attempted to make me feel welcome, but I saw NO ONE of my age without walkers of any kind. I left with a very sad feeling. The location was about the only positive thing going for it. Happy hour on Fridays at 1 pm? Happy hour at 4 pm would be far more appealing.!!!!
