The person who gave us the tour was very good. The rooms were okay. The kitchens were small and they didn't have much cupboard space, but other than that, it was fine. They have a 1-bedroom and a couple of 2-bedrooms. They have libraries, play rooms, and walking space outside. Many of the people living there don't drive, so they have buses to take them around. They didn't have any activities going on at the time and the kitchen was closed, but they were delivering meals to the rooms. It looked like they were taking care of the people that were there.

The Springs at Clackamas Woods is fabulous and wonderful. The people are friendly and wonderful, and the food is terrific and very good. They have lots of activities. It's quite a bit of money, but it's worth it.

Royalton Place was very good. The room looked very clean and was partially painted. Everything was well kept. The kitchen and the dining area were extremely clean. They showed me the meals and the nursing staff. The person who assisted me was very informative. She gave me information. The place was very clean.

Royalton Place was nice, clean, and very airy with high ceilings, a nice dining area, and cozy common area. I didn't really care for their memory care because it smelled. The person who assisted me in my tour was Megan, who was wonderful. I spent well over an hour with her, and she was very compassionate about the decision I had to make regarding my aunt. It was a very positive experience. They didn't accept Medicaid, so we didn't pick that place.

Everything is going well here. She's not interested in activities, but I know they have a lot of them. It's a nice community and everybody cares about the people there. They watch out for each other and make sure that everybody is OK. All the food is included and they clean the rooms. You can schedule to have your loved one taken to doctors' appointments. They serve three meals and they have snacks there as well. It's nice, clean, and decorated appropriately for people her age. The staff is wonderful and they care about the people they work with. They do an excellent job.

Royalton Place was very good. They had excellent food, the place was clean, organized, and secure. They have a bus for the residents so they can go to churches or stores, and they take them out to the country on Saturday afternoons. They have a two-week minimum stay, while a lot of the places have a 30-day minimum stay. Someone was always there to meet my mom's needs and we really appreciated their caring attitude. They have someone at the door and the desk 24 hours so peopel who don't belong there can't come in. Every apartment has a window and private bath. The common areas were easy to access since the place only has two stories. You can take the elevators, and they also have stairs. They have activities and everything from Tai chi and yoga to arts classes. One nice thing about them was that the people who live there full-time were very open and welcomed having guests stay there for a short time, so my mother felt accepted.

I'm going here. They're very friendly. I liked the suite arrangement. The food was good. The people were friendly. It has two elevators. It was clean and I liked the location of it. They serve three meals a day. There's a van to various places, and there are different activities.

The rooms were very small. Food plans are part of their program, so the kitchens are very tiny. They don't have full-sized appliances. The staff was pleasant. I went to see bean bag baseball, and they talked about bowling in the halls. I got to see the little parakeets in the lobby, which I really liked. They had a luau and ice cream socials a couple of times. It's a step up from a nursing home. A lot of their residents are very old and living well. They had a very good variety of food and a pretty outdoor patio where they were having a big picnic and barbecue that they invited me to.

It was nice. It's a retirement center, not a home with different levels of care. The dining area was good. The staff was very nice and very accommodating.
Founded in 1847, Milwaukie is a quiet suburban city with a population of 20,000 that has a rich history. The city is just miles away from downtown Portland, giving Milwaukie assisted living residents the best of all worlds: a small town feel with easy access to a bustling downtown metropolis. Milwaukiens, as they’re called, are generally active community members and engage as board members, volunteer members, or participants in one of the many annual festivals. The area is bordered by the Willamette River, which moderates the temperature year-round and provides some beautiful scenery. Currently, Milwaukie’s downtown area is being redeveloped to make room for new apartments and retail stores, as well as a new riverfront park.
Residents of assisted living in Milwaukie have a number of historical, cultural, and outdoor activities to enjoy. Seniors interested in gardening can join the Milwaukie Community Gardens , a group dedicated to building local food security through gardening in one of the area’s many community gardens. The Milwaukie Museum is a favored attraction among locals, as it’s home to nearly 200 years of history and has a wide assortment of pictures and artifacts. During the summer, make your way to the Milwaukie Daze Festival and Parade to enjoy the fireworks and carnival games by the beautiful riverfront. Then in the winter, there’s the Umbrella Parade & Tree Lighting along with the Christmas Ships and Winter Solstice Bonfire to celebrate the holiday season. Whatever the season, Milwaukie assisted living residents have plenty of activities to enjoy. For those willing to travel to Portland, just a 15 minute drive away, the entertainment options are endless. The Oregon Ballet Theatre , Oregon Symphony , Portland Center Stage , and Portland Opera each offer a unique and rich experience for those who appreciate culture and the performing arts. The Portland Art Museum is perfect for art lovers, while sports enthusiasts can attend one of the many major league sports team the city offers.
Milwaukie assisted living residents are serviced by the Providence Milwaukie Hospital, a non-profit hospital with 77 acute-beds and over 450 dedicated staff members. The hospital provides a full range of services, including rehabilitation, cancer treatment, heart and vascular, and emergency care. There are also a number of walk-in clinics in the Milwaukie area ensuring residents’ healthcare needs are always taken care of.
All in all, assisted living in Milwaukie offers your senior loved ones a quiet suburban town combined with big-city living just around the corner. For more information on senior living in Milwaukie, see our options for Milwaukie assisted living.
The Milwaukie Center provides recreational and health and wellness activities for Milwaukie residents of all ages, with a focus on seniors. The center is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and offers programs such as meals on wheels, grocery shopping trips, recreation excursions, tax aide, healthy aging workshops, and blood pressure checks. Those with disabilities are helped by Aging and People With Disabilities, which has an office in Milwaukie that provides assistance with medical care, caregiving, nutrition help, and more.
