I took a tour of Applewood Retirement Community. We decided that it wasn't a fit for my dad because it was too expensive and the facility smelled funny. It had a very distinguished odor inside of it. It didn't seem like it was very well kept, and they were kinda disorganized. They didn't realize that I had a tour set up. The room was mediocre; it didn't really stand out to me. The rooms looked like apartments. The lady staff was great after the confusion. She was like, 'I don't see any tours scheduled.' They almost didn't let me in because of Covid, but then she called her supervisor and they figured it out. There was a pool table, they had puzzles and stuff, but that's pretty much all I remember.

Applewood is infact the worst place to live. to make the place better they need to get rid of Sara the administrator/executive director. is rude careless towards us residents. she\'s always gone or never around. their is no activity here all they do is play bingo from time to time. and if you are getting evicted I was told that the staff can not serve me any meals at Sara\'s request. I paid my rent their should be no reason that I can\'t be served a meal what am I supposed to do starve. Sara doesn\'t care she still won\'t allow me to be served a meal because I\'m being evicted. they need to fire Sara as well as christina to. if they don\'t fire them they are going to lose a lot of residence that are planing to move from Applewood because of sara and christina. I have been trying to get in contact with the owners but their is no information with their contact information.

I hate living here at Applewood in salem it seems to be going downhill every time I need help or have a question for the executive director Sara she\'s never there she never comes to work anymore very much for about 3 months. and when she is here she comes and goes throughout the day that it is impossible to get a hold of her she\'s not very good at all with following through with anything she does we need a new ED. As for the five star rating for staffing and facility is only for three staff members that do a phenomenal job always there helping making sure our building stays covid19 free very friendly working very hard everyday without them this place would be nothing. thank you to these three staff members for everything you have done for all of us residents we do recognize it and very much appreciate these three staff members they\'re the only ones that do great teamwork in this facility.

My sister is at Applewood Retirement Community. They seem to be very friendly and helpful. She seems happy there, and she has friends there. They have a calendar of all the activities and things available to the residents. They have transportation, too. It's always clean and there's always a lot going on. We're satisfied.

My sister is at Applewood Retirement. It is really nice. The employees are very friendly and helpful. It has a very homey atmosphere, and it is also clean. The employees have gone out of their way to assist with everything. It is a nice community. My sister has a studio with a sink and a microwave. They have a variety of rooms. They get three meals a day plus snacks. They do activities like bingo, cards, and they have people who come in and provide entertainment. They have church services, they decorate the tree and do all the holiday things, and they check on the residents if they haven't seen them. It is two-story building with an elevator. There are 24-hour employees there.

I visited Hidden Lakes and I liked their cottages. The residents were well cared for, and the staff was wonderful. They were getting ready for a birthday party when we went there. The cottages were clean, bright, roomy, they had a fireplace, an all gas kitchen, stove, washer and dryer, and two bathrooms. They have a lake there.

The guy who gave us the tour at Prestige Senior Living Orchard Heights was very nice, and knowledgeable. I felt comfortable with assisted living but I did not like the memory care. The assisted living was bustling, clean and vibrant. They were great, but the memory care was not so great. Assisted living had about everything. You could have a vegetable garden, you could do crafts, music, and they had a place where you could watch television and movies. The dining room was very professional, clean and nicely laid out.

My brother-in-law is in Hidden Lakes. It's really great and they have been very kind to him. He's very difficult to work with, but they have bent over backward to try and accommodate him. I have been impressed with it. He went on a field trip yesterday to the casino and it made him happy because he won money. He complains that it takes a long time to be served during meals. We ate with him two or three times when he was moving in and I agree with him about the service, but the food was very good. They have a library and church services. It's very expensive, but it was the best deal we could find compared to other ones. It's a great building, but he happens to be on the fifth floor, and he has to go into two different elevators. It's been very confusing to him in terms of the layout.

My mom has been living here. It's been great. They're very welcoming, they cater to the residents there, make them feel at home, and they have a lot of things to do there. They're very assisting and caring. My mom has a little kitchen area, a fridge, sink, and cupboard storage space, and there's a little living area with a big closet. There's also a big closet/storage/coats closet in the entryway when you walk in, and there's a bathroom. They have a library, exercises classes, walking paths, and barbeques.
