I've selected Concordia Lutheran Ministries for my mom, and it's excellent. The communication with the staff is excellent, her room is beautiful, and they have activities and pretty much anything they need. It's highly recommended. The staff provide excellent care, and they interact with me and with her.

My husband is at Heritagespring Healthcare Center of West Chester, but I have not seen anything. All I've gone into is the double doors and the reception area. That is as far as I have gone. I've been in there a couple of times. I call but no one answers, and then I'll call again and they'll say I'll have the nurse call you, but they don't call me. I have not talked to him for two days because they don't answer the telephone. I understand that they're busy, I get that, but it is just really hard because there's really no communication, and I don't know how he is doing. When he went it he was in a private room, but the nurses told me they may move somebody in there. I went up to pick his clothes and the lady came up to me and I said, "Do you need this back today?" and she said no because he has a couple of days. And the next morning I just finished laundry and they called and told me he has no pajama pants, and so I told them I would bring them over. I took the clothes in and I told them they called and told me to bring the clothes in and they just sat there and looked at me, and when I left they were just there. She did not place a phone call or anything. I just left the clothes there and I hope they get to the right person. When I call they tell me he's fine. The place is fine, the inside is very old, but it's clean. I've been inside the door, it is clean. They still have their decorations up, which is a little late, I think, but I know a lot of people who do that. All I've seen is into the desk and not any further than there, but it looks fine. It's just very old. I looked up the ratings and I was dumbfounded. They have a D-rating which I never knew, and which upsets me; that is not very good. I would like to get more in-depth information like if he is walking better, or if he is getting out of bed better, or something like that, but all I get is, "He is doing fine." I don't think he is doing fine because he would not be there if he was. It is hard for families to not know, especially if they're older.

The Waterford at Fairfield looked very good, but it felt like being in a closed-in place. The staff members that we met were very kind and very good to me.

I like them, but I can't wait six more months. I liked the look of it, the things they had to offer, and the people. There was a garden patio so I could go out on my porch and just sit. That would've been my first choice. I liked the outside and the pond. It looked like home, and it was very attractive. The people have been very friendly, and every time I call I get lots of good answers. It's the most wonderful place I've ever seen.

The Waterford at Fairfield is very nice. They are very sociable. It is a very nice place. I liked it instantly. The staff member who assisted me was very nice and kept in touch with me. When my dad saw this place, he loved it instantly. They have nice, big rooms. The ones we looked at were the efficiency room, the smaller one-bedroom, and the big one-bedroom. My dad will be getting a big one-bedroom. They told us about going to the grocery store and going on different outings. It is a really nice and peaceful place. The people are very nice. The biggest advantage is that I like the location; it is not far from me. It is also within our budget. It looks like they take care of the residents. Hopefully we'll be able to move my dad in soon.

I chose The Woodlands of Hamilton for my mother-in-law because it's nice and clean. The people there seems nice, the facilities were nice, and the cost is half than what we're paying at her current community. I just picked a one room unit. They also have different rooms available. They said that they have an activities director, but the couple of times that I was there I've never seen one. They also said that they had people come in, they take their residents out if they want to go shopping and so on.

My sister has moved into The Waterford at Fairfield. It is clean and smells good, which is important. It is a good value for the money. Overall, I think it is a perfect fit for my sister. The staff members are very nice and friendly. The housekeeping lady is very friendly. The front office area people are very nice, too. I am pleased with the cafeteria. The sous chef came and introduced themselves to my sister, which was very nice. They're all great. My sister likes the food very much. They have exercise, bingo, Bible study, Saturday night movies, group outings, paintings, crafts, baking, and Wii bowling. They have lots of things to do. The laundry room is nice.

Cranberry Place is pretty good and seemed to be up-to-date. The rooms are basic and pretty clean, with hospital beds and a dresser. There are two to a room. They remodeled some of the building and it's pretty new and they put a new kitchen in. They had a very nice deck outside with flowers and a nice porch where people can sit. They can also sit underneath the canopy. The food was good. They're very clean and do a nice job preparing it. They just do a good job.
