My mother was a resident of this apartment complex. It is a very poorly managed facility. They don’t answer their phone and if you leave a message, it is not returned. When I first checked out the place I was told that the roads were going to be redone and that never happened. The roads are in very poor condition with huge chuck holes everywhere. If you value your car, this is NOT your place. The apartment my mother had was very old. The carpet looked like a cheap grade of indoor/outdoor. The kitchen was very dated and the appliances were 20+ years. Ants were a big problem. I had to buy supplies myself to rectify the situation after their exterminator came twice and didn’t take care of it. The thing that really got me in the end was they kept $240 of my mother’s deposit to shampoo the carpet due to stains and float and texture nail patches. I left this apartment in better condition than it was when she first moved in. There were no visible stains on the carpet and we hung three pictures with very small nails. When she moved in there were large holes on the kitchen cabinet that we had to hang a calendar over to make it look better. Stay clear of this place.

It is well cared for and it's very nice. I've only been there once. All the staff there was excellent, very friendly and very helpful. They have a library, they play bingo, and they have music that's being played by someone on the piano. It was a very nice and clean place. It's also very spacious.

It has been a great place, and I've been here for years. The assisted living and independent living are all together. The people are very friendly here; it's like family. It's been a nice place to live. We have a beauty salon, a library, a television room to watch football games, and a multipurpose room where all the activities go on. There's a haunted house at Halloween and different seasonal activities. The lobby is not large, but we have different activities there. There's a popcorn machine, some puzzles people can do, and a large stairway that goes up to the second floor, which is very pretty. The fish tank is nice, and the people like that. Everyone is friendly and speaks to everyone. We have entertainment come in, someone sings or plays the piano, monthly birthday celebrations, and lots of arts and crafts activities.

The Cottages at Clear Lake were very nice and I really liked it. It's clean and well-maintained. I only met a few of their staff but they seem to be very nice. I saw some residents in one of the rooms playing bingo. That was that only activity going on at that time but from what I understand, they have lots of activities. They have an outside area, and there's a room in one of the buildings for families that wanted to come and have a gathering. It's also too expensive for me, it's more than I could afford.

My mother-in-law has moved in. So far it has been excellent. It looks like a hotel inside. It seems large but it is nice. They have a lot of things for her to do. It is just getting her to participate in them, but I have no complaints. The staff members seem to be very willing to help and they approach their job like they work for the residents there, which is a good thing. They have arts and crafts, they make Christmas ornaments, and residents participate in seasonal decorations. They also have bingo, card playing, dominoes, exercise, and yoga. They have quite a bit of activities. They're great. The staff has been wonderful. My mother-in-law says the food is adequate.

The Cottages at Clear Lake was my choice. That's where my husband and I want my mother-in-law to go. It's wonderful; it's absolutely gorgeous inside. I was able to witness the preparation of the food. The staff members were just wonderful. For the residents, there were lots of activities to do. It is also color-coded. They can remember exactly which color their room is in, which is really neat. They have hydration program also. With every meal, the residents get three separate drinks. Each drink has the nutrients that their body needs, which I think is wonderful. They were all smiles. The place was great.

My father is very happy at Elmcroft of the Mainland. He hasn't fallen and he's been given the care he needs. My mother was here for three years and never went to the hospital. It's very clean and nice. They have a bus that will take them out to Wal-Mart or to dinner or lunch, and they have nice groups that come in. The staff is great. They hug him, give him more personal care, and make sure that he is OK and not hurting. The food is good. The place is always manicured. They have activities all the time.

We did not have a good experience with The Cottages at Clear Lake. My father had three hospitalizations and six falls. He has a very critical disease, and they didn't give him his medicine on time. I like that he lost 19 pounds because he wasn't eating too much sweets there. They had some real nice people, but they didn't have the nursing care they needed. If you have people that are that ill, you need to have the right people available. They were lazy. The food was OK and activities were decent. He even escaped one time. They promised me he would not be able to get out, but he did.

My father is in Elmcroft of the Mainland. His room is homey and clean. The food is good, and the staff is very friendly. The activity he does most is trivia. They have a family TV room, a room where they hold church services, and activity rooms. What stood out was the tenure of the employees was really long. It has a very relaxed atmosphere.
