It has been a great place, and I've been here for years. The assisted living and independent living are all together. The people are very friendly here; it's like family. It's been a nice place to live. We have a beauty salon, a library, a television room to watch football games, and a multipurpose room where all the activities go on. There's a haunted house at Halloween and different seasonal activities. The lobby is not large, but we have different activities there. There's a popcorn machine, some puzzles people can do, and a large stairway that goes up to the second floor, which is very pretty. The fish tank is nice, and the people like that. Everyone is friendly and speaks to everyone. We have entertainment come in, someone sings or plays the piano, monthly birthday celebrations, and lots of arts and crafts activities.

The Cottages at Clear Lake were very nice and I really liked it. It's clean and well-maintained. I only met a few of their staff but they seem to be very nice. I saw some residents in one of the rooms playing bingo. That was that only activity going on at that time but from what I understand, they have lots of activities. They have an outside area, and there's a room in one of the buildings for families that wanted to come and have a gathering. It's also too expensive for me, it's more than I could afford.

The Cottages at Clear Lake was my choice. That's where my husband and I want my mother-in-law to go. It's wonderful; it's absolutely gorgeous inside. I was able to witness the preparation of the food. The staff members were just wonderful. For the residents, there were lots of activities to do. It is also color-coded. They can remember exactly which color their room is in, which is really neat. They have hydration program also. With every meal, the residents get three separate drinks. Each drink has the nutrients that their body needs, which I think is wonderful. They were all smiles. The place was great.

We did not have a good experience with The Cottages at Clear Lake. My father had three hospitalizations and six falls. He has a very critical disease, and they didn't give him his medicine on time. I like that he lost 19 pounds because he wasn't eating too much sweets there. They had some real nice people, but they didn't have the nursing care they needed. If you have people that are that ill, you need to have the right people available. They were lazy. The food was OK and activities were decent. He even escaped one time. They promised me he would not be able to get out, but he did.

It looked like a very good place for me. They had a lot of activities. It's a nice place to stay and it's in a nice area. The rooms looked spacious and nice, with big closets and restrooms. The staff seemed to be OK. The residents we saw hanging around the hallway and they seemed happy. They have a library, a salon, a chapel, an exercise room, game room, and a community area where they can watch TV together.
