My mother-in-law is moving into Brookdale Trinity Towers. She is living in Florida, and she does not have any family there, so we kind of wanted her to be closer to where we are located. They have all the amenities that will suit her because she's not healthy and all. She can still get around and do things, but she needs help. There are a lot of things there that they can help her with. There is the staff -- the medical staff will feed her twice a day. There are activities, games, the library, and the pool. She will still have her own place. She will still feel independent; she won't feel like that has been taken away from her. She can come and go. She does not have to stay there; she can spend the night with us. We can pick her up, take her to eat, and take her back. Most of all, we liked the medical and the security that they have. She still has her independence, and that is overall one of the most important things. They have physical therapy -- all kinds of different physical therapy if she should need it. In our household we can't give her those things, and we can't medically take care of her. The staff who gave us the tour was very friendly. She walked us through the apartment, showed us each room, showed us the bathroom, and showed us where the emergency bathroom was. She was very thorough as far as walking us through the facility and the apartment. Overall, I would say she did a good job, and she was very pleasant.

Solstice Senior Living at Corpus Christi was excellent and had everything. I spent the night and had lunch there. They had outstanding staff. The rooms were like mini apartments.

I really liked Solstice Senior Living at Corpus Christi. They have a lot of cottages and the place is a lot larger. They also had a lot more amenities. You couldn't stay there if you needed more help. I talked to a lot of the residents and they were all happy. The staff was very accommodating, willing to show me everything, and give me all the information. They have also followed up with me a great deal. The food was wonderful and there was a dessert that I'd love to have again. They have a really good chef.

We visited The Waterford at Corpus Christi, but we left after seeing the room we were looking at, because it didn't meet our needs at all. They said it had a small kitchenette, but you can't really call it that -- it was a closet with a microwave. We were really disappointed in this community. The size of the room was fine, it's just that it was not what they described to us. We didn't feel comfortable with the staff member who accommodated us. Every other senior community they sat us down and explained what they offered, but he didnt do that. He gave us paperwork first that was about confidentiality. It was a very odd feeling when we were there. When we went into the lobby area, and the dining area, the cleanliness was awesome, but the room itself didn't seem clean and was very dated. The lobby was beautiful, and as we walked past the dining area it was nicely decorated. If it's going to be a room that's advertised to have a kitchenette, they need to update that part of it. The bathrooms in the rooms need some updating as well.

The management of Solstice at Corpus Christi is very cooperative. The apartments don't have that much closet space, but you have your kitchen and living space all in one, and the bedroom separate. They also have a nice walk-in shower in the bathroom, and the kitchen has a microwave and a full-sized refrigerator. Their amenities include a heated pool where they do water aerobics, a little gym on the second floor with exercise machines, and TV room where they have movie nights and so on. They have activities almost every weekend, and it's a lot of fun watching them outside. They have walking space in the sidewalks, and you're allowed to have one pet. Everything is wheelchair accessible and they have a nursing staff only if you need them. Their menu is wonderful as well. The facility is nice and clean, and they have weekly housekeeping where they wash your sheets and towels for you. The laundry room is right down the hall.
