I have been a Forum resident for about six years. I joined the community because, from personal experience, I saw the need for excellent medical back up that is there if and when needed. Once there I found a whole lot more. I found a very positive, very friendly culture, both with residents and with staff. The management staff, who runs the business end and takes care of the resident needs, is outstanding...very transparent, capable, forward looking, resident centered, and knowledgeable. Because the residents own The Forum, the management answers to the Board of Directors, all of whom are residents and elected by the residents. Thus, the residents rule. Cost wise, The Forum is less than comperable competitors. As our Mission Starement says, we aim for Health, Friendship, Purpose, and Sustainabliity...A very Simpatico place to be. Rich

The beauty of The Forum’s campus, the spacious and well-designed apartments and villas, the inviting common areas—all these are obvious on a first visit. What’s not obvious, what has to be experienced in order to appreciate it, is the warmth, the intellectual stimulation, and the communal spirit of The Forum’s residential community. We lived in our previous home for five decades, it was perfect for us in every way, and we expected to have a certain amount of nostalgia, looking back. But no, from the very first day we felt so much at home, so welcomed, so busy with Forum activities, that we’ve never looked back. If you move here, you won’t either.

It wasn’t until after we’d moved in that I discovered a big plus of The Forum: FUN! We have lots of it…on the bocce ball court, at coffee after exercise class, trying to speak Spanish in a conversation group, at breakfast and over dinner. Friends and fun, that’s The Forum.

Amazing community with great amenities set in the most beautiful open green hills of Rancho San Antonio. The staff and the residents are all extremely kind and outgoing. They offer a wide variety of types of homes at different pricing levels and it is a must see!

In 2007 my husband from India and I moved to the Forum (one of our wisest decisions ever). My husband chose this unique equity retirement community because he could get back his investment if he wished to leave and because it offered us a place to live in a “Shangri-la valley.” I chose the Forum because a resident-elected Board of Directors oversees excellent professional management. We found Forum people remarkably kind and talented and have enjoyed a vibrant life style here. My husband received exceptional skilled nursing care in the Forum’s Health Care Center for three years until his death in 2014. I find my life now filled with deep friendships and with volunteer work in a cutting-edge memory care program.

A great place to live. The Forum just had a Stanford Study that showed that our residents aren\'t lonely here even during Covid. Two minutes from the freeway. I feel like I won the lottery by moving here.

I like the location of Chateau Cupertino because it sits between my 2 daughters and it's very close. But there's only 1 type of room that I would want there which is the 2-bedroom and 1 bath, and they have a very limited number of those. The other rooms were just not acceptable and too small. My first impression of the place was that it's very cold. The whole place was cold, it may have been me but some people like it cold. The appearance of the place was very nice. It was in the center of Cupertino and made me feel like it was not cramped, so it was nice. They had a nice layout. The person who assisted me during the tour was an aggressive salesperson, maybe like a realtor. Their dining area looked fine, people were eating and enjoying it. They seat you as you go in so you're seated with other people. I'm not sure if I like that idea or not. The exercise area, the game room, and entertainment were kind of all in the same room and people were playing cards. It looks good and clean.

Chateau Cupertino was an old building surrounded by an apartment complex. You can't see anything out the windows, but there are patios in some of the rooms. All you can see if you live there is parking lot. If you have a car, you must take it out at least twice a month or you can't leave your car there. The person who gave me the tour was nice enough and knew the answers to my questions. The facility was old, dingy, and they had over 100 people in there. They need to paint the interior of the place and put down new carpeting everywhere, but it was clean, and it didn't smell.
Cupertino lies in the center of California’s Silicon Valley, and is home to a thriving business community that includes many leaders in technology. Because Apple headquarters is located in the city, Cupertino is the default location for the weather and world clock applications on the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch.
The city is located at the southern end of San Francisco Bay, and is bordered by the Santa Cruz Mountains. Cupertino has a population of around 50,500. The city’s mild weather, with wet winters and dry summers, make it a comfortable retirement location for residents of assisted living in Cupertino.
Residents of assisted living in Cupertino may visit the Historical Museum or take in an astronomy or laser show at the Fujitsu Planetarium of De Anza College. For more down-to-earth entertainment, performances in music, ballet and dance are regularly scheduled at the Flint Center for the Performing Arts. Enthusiasts of The Bard will appreciate Cupertino’s close proximity to San Francisco’s Free Shakespeare in the Park Festival. The local Senior Center enhances the lives of its members with its classes, socials, computer and travel programs. The Santa Clara County Library System maintains a Cupertino branch to provide free reading materials to the city’s citizens. The library is one of several places to pick up Active Senior News, a bi-monthly newsletter outlining events and activities designed for senior residents.
The expansive lawns of Cupertino’s many beautiful parks are ideal for picnics or a quiet stroll. Blackberry Farm and McClellan Ranch Park both act as wildlife preserves. The latter boasts a nature museum, community garden, livestock barn and replica of an old blacksmith shop.
Seniors enjoying assisted living in Cupertino will find no shortage of shopping opportunities in this city and surrounding Santa Clara County. Cupertino Square shopping center is a modern 1.3 million square foot retail mall, with a state-of-the-art 16-theater movie complex. The De Anza Flea Market, with its 825 vendor stalls, is held on the first Saturday of each month. Further abroad, Westfield Valley Fair and Great Mall are also popular shopping destinations.
There are no major hospitals within the city limits of Cupertino, but surrounding area medical centers include Kaiser Foundation Hospital (4 miles), El Camino Hospital (6 miles) and O’Connor Hospital (6 miles). In the midst of the bustling San Francisco Bay Area, residents of assisted living in Cupertino will always have easy access to state-of-the-art medical care.
Cupertino public transportation is provided by Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, which offers significant fare reductions for senior citizens. Seniors enjoying assisted living in Cupertino may also have the option of utilizing the city’s paratransit program, operated under contract with OUTREACH, a private, non-profit paratransit broker. Trips outside of the city are easy to map out using the Regional Trip Planner offered for Bay Area residents at the 511.org website.
