Brookdale Southfield was a very nice facility. The staff was wonderful. Every person that we met, be it a resident or a staff member, had nothing but great things to say about the facility itself. They had a swimming pool and an exercise facility. The kitchen space was small, and the units were small, but very nice and very updated. They did not have in-unit washers and dryers. They said they could put one in, but I couldn't figure out where they would put it in.

American House Southfield would be a great fit for my father. The staff was excellent. The rooms are nice, especially the 2-bedrooms since it has huge closets. They also have 1-bedrooms. They have a veterans' room that was decorated with memorabilia and since my dad is a vet himself, he's very impressed by that room. The food smelled pretty good.

Imperial Senior Suites seemed to be pretty nice and I liked the apartments very much. You can take adavantage of the extra services, but it will be very expensive. The staff was very nice, and I liked how the rooms were set up. They have a lot of nice programs for the seniors, like adult coloring, movies with popcorn, Bingo, Bible studies, and outings.

Imperial Senior Suites was fine with me. The staff members were very pleasant and very knowledgeable. The grounds were clean and well kept. It is also a convenient location. It's near major freeways, shopping, and hospitals. I only saw one apartment. The apartment was small but nice. It was a 2-bedroom, 1-bath. They also have activities.

Evergreen was very nice, and we liked it very much. My mom was there for rehab, then went to long term care. The staff was wonderful, very nice, and accommodating. The dining area looked very nice. They had bingo, ice cream socials, and coloring.

My friend moved into Imperial Senior Suites. The general appearance of the place is not that great; however, the services are good, the people are friendly, and she likes it there very much. They offer a lot of activities, they have movies, walks, outings, and they have talks from professionals about senior health care issues. They have lots of games every day, the food is excellent, and she loves it.

I like The Park at Trowbridge. The residents like the food, but sometimes they don't have enough help to get the food out while it's still warm. They have tons of activities, which is the one thing I like the most about it. Mom doesn't take advantage of them enough. They have excursions to malls, to movies and to casinos, and during the summer, they go on outings to different lakes. They do an excellent job there. They have indoor activities, like playing bingo or movie night in the activities room, and arts and crafts. They're remodeling right now. Her room is clean. The only problem I've had is sometimes maintenance is slow. As far as the staff, the people behind the counter and housekeeping all seem to be very pleasant and very nice. The staff all know her.

I wasn't taken by the staff at Evergreen Health & Living Center. It was very sterile, and there wasn't much emotion in anybody. The room and everything was clean, but there wasn't much warmth. It seemed like whenever I had a question, it took longer to get answers. My mom had been to rehab at other places, and they didn't charge her for things like phone or the TV, and here they did and I wasn't pleased. There wasn't that much therapy. They only had her there for five days. She wasn't really happy with the food most of the time.

My mom stayed at The Park at Trowbridge. They had a change of ownership and in the transition they stopped doing any kind of maintenance so it went downhill pretty fast. The carpet need to be done, the floor need to be better, and the staff has a high turnover.
