Mom will move into Forsyth Court after rehab. We went there to get all the paperwork and give the money for the first month. We worked with Chad. First of all, he dropped the cost of the room for me, I guess. The people seemed really friendly -- everybody we talked to -- and it seemed like a nice place. It looked fine; what I've seen was good. I liked the two game rooms and the two courtyards. It just looked fine. Everybody we talked to was nice. Chad and I talked to a couple of the cleaning ladies there, and everybody seemed friendly. I know they have a TV room, they're pet-friendly, and I saw the barber/beauty shop. It looked good. It felt homey.

I visited Creekside Terrace in person. The visit was very nice, and they were very cordial. It was probably a newer place than the place I've chosen. I liked this place fine, but to me it seemed like the other place did a little bit more with their activities with the residents. The staff was very good. It was a very nice facility, they had a garden patio, and it felt homey.

I toured Forsyth Court and I liked it. I didn't have any issues with it. They were polite. The apartments were nice. I really liked them. They have a courtyard too. I saw a one-bedroom and a studio. They were spacious and clean. I saw everything, the whole place. There's a cafeteria, the store, game room, the TV room, and courtyard. It was well-maintained. If my mom's out to go somewhere, it's gonna be Forsythe Court, but right now she's decided to stay here.

We went to Brighton Gardens of Winston-Salem. It was more like a home than a hospital. The room was nice, and I liked the place. The staff was nice, friendly, and helpful. I think they had a TV area and a garden area. They had an elevator and my mother-in-law didn't like it.

I liked Brookdale, but it was a little bit more spread out than I thought it would be and it's a little bigger. The person during the tour was very nice and very helpful. I liked the apartment; it was clean, it wasn't big, but it seemed adequate. I saw residents eat and interact with each other, and the staff seemed really engaged.

Forest Heights Senior Living Community was wonderful. It was cheer-y. The staff member took a lot of time with me and took me to several rooms. It was pretty, but it was way too big, overwhelming, and farther away from us than other places. It would be too much for my mother-in-law. The staff member was wonderful, sweet, and would call to check on me. Forest Heights really looked like a really nice place. It would be my second choice.

Brighton Gardens of Winston-Salem is better than where my wife was before. They have a lift, so they're able to handle things and move her around. She has a private room, and she has a TV in it. They take her down in the mornings and have her mix with other people. It worked out fairly well because she has a private room, which is not in their memory care. She is immobile basically and is no longer a flight risk, so they don't have to put her behind locked doors. They will on occasion bring her meals to her room. Sometimes she's with a group sitting in her wheelchair and listening to what's going on. They play some music, do quiz games, and coupon cutting activities. The food I had there was pretty good. She's in assisted living with the maximum care package. The staff is good, and the place is in pretty good shape.

Brighton Gardens of Winston-Salem is very good. I like the location. It's very clean and neat, and the staff is very personable and easy to work with. They've taken good care of my mom and that makes me happy. My mom went in there with bad health, but the doctors did a very good job in getting the correct medication for her. Her health has improved 100%, and she's happy with the care she's getting. She likes the people who work there. The price is also pretty comparable with most of the retirement places here in Winston. My mom is not really crazy about the food, though.

Brighton Gardens of Winston-Salem is beautiful and geriatric-friendly. The staff had been very kind and supportive of my friend's mom. The dining area is pleasant. The residents watch television and they have pet therapy. My friend's mom's room is a little bit small, but compact and very nice.
